In the USA there are many different styles of music just like all around the world but music can be an outlet for different races in different ways. I believe that the type of music people in the USA listen to is controlled by the big record labels to keep certain races down and to help keep other races in charge. Music, like many artist have stated is freedom and self expression, it can have a large effect on how you feel or can completely change your perspective on life situations after listening to a song/artist just once. I believe that music has had a huge impact on how we in the USA have dealt with racism and segregation and will continue to either keep us apart or draw us closer as a nation. When music is controlled in the USA by large record labels we miss out on so many opportunities to have better understanding of different races. For example, when watching the video â€Å"Hip Hop: Beyond the Beats Rhymes† we have this perception now of African American men in the U SA to be these violent, Drug addicted, womanizing beings, but they are not. The fact that these record labels control the content of music that is realized or artist that are signed is appalling. When these male rappers are told the content of helping others of their kind is not â€Å"what the label is looking for† is outrageous, so creating music to uplift the poor black communities is not wanted? Chapter Four Results Introduction This chapter presents the statistical results of the correlational study of the relationship between students and college persistence who were enrolled from partnering high schools (Clay County, Corbin, McCreary County, North Laurel, South Laurel, and Whitley County) and the dual credit program. The study theorized that the provision of dual credit programs to participating high schools would affect the students’ choice to attend an institution of higher education or not based upon participation levels in dual credit classes. Furthermore, the study assumed that a relationship will exist in the grade point average earned and dual credit participation.
